Facilities
The Home has its own laundry and all towels and bed linen are provided. We provide a laundry service for personal clothing.
There is a hairdressing salon, which is open two days a week for all residents. Perms and more elaborate treatments can be arranged at other times to suit. Alternatively, should a resident prefer, their own hairdresser may come in.
The local library provides a regular service to the Home changing books every month. A wide selection of large print books is included. Newspapers and sundries can be purchased from the neighbouring convenience store and chemist and a small shopping service is organised daily. A safe is provided by the Home for personal money or valuables of clients.
Chiropody is available in the Home regularly. There is a visiting optical service and dentist and other services can be arranged as and when required.

Activities
There is a programme of social events and activities which residents may choose to join in. This includes musical events, quizzes, outings, barbecues and seasonal events. Our activities coordinators encourage and help with residents’ personal hobbies and interests.

Accomodation
All rooms have tastefully designed furnishings and en-suite facilities as well as specialised nursing equipment including tracking hoists and profiling beds.
Residents are welcome to bring in small items of their own furniture should they wish.
Medical
We encourage Residents to remain with their own GP and will work together with your own GP and hospitals to continue providing a seamless continuing care.
There is a dental surgery in the neighbouring medical centre. Our staff are able to facilitate visits to the dentist of their choice.
We also have visiting private physiotherapist, chiropody and ophthalmic services.
Nursing Care
The quality and standard of the nursing we provide is central to our philosophy of care. Matron and our team of highly qualified nurses take detailed accounts of the wellbeing and comfort of each resident. We have close links with Bournemouth University and have provided on site training for their nursing degree course for many years.
- The latest and most comprehensive assessment and management systems are used to ensure the best care for residents and an extensive range of specialised equipment is available to meet individual needs.
- Nursing staff are urged to take advantage of the NVQ training offered.
- Residents are encouraged to remain under the care of their own GP.
We have installed state of the art computerized software to take our Nursing Care to the highest standard. This will provide our residents with the highest level of person centered care.
Dementia Care
Muscliff is now accredited for dementia nursing care with the Bournemouth Borough Council. . We recognise the memory problems that some of our residents have and look to help with this by providing additional training and facilities. This includes our Sensory Room, Sensory Garden and specially focussed meaningful activities. Staff training has included the Dementia Friends Course and Dr Gemma Jones Course. We have appointed two Dementia Care Champions and focus on individual person centred care.
Wellbeing
We have our own hairdressing salon with a visiting stylist who ensures our residents are always able to look and feel their best.
Dietary/Meals
Our chef provides attractive appetising meals and offers special diets to meet individual requirements. Friends and relatives are welcome to join residents for meals with prior notice.
Breakfast is provided in the rooms, whilst lunch and supper are taken in the dining room, unless otherwise requested.

Communication
All rooms have their own personal phone lines and a residents’ wi-fi is available throughout the home. In addition we have i-pads for residents, which can be used for Skype, Facetime and Internet browsing etc.
Multi-sensory Room
We have installed a unique Multi Sensory Room at Muscliff Care Home. This new facility provides a relaxing and calming atmosphere for our residents. Multi sensory rooms have been shown to be of great benefit for residents with complex needs to improve their cognitive abilities.
